ex camera.
i need to shoot a scene next week in a chemical plant, that doesnt allow any items that might produce a spark, is there a camera available that is spark free, somone mentioned a EX camera or something like that any help appricated. john in ireland.

What you want is something with no moving parts. The tape transports are powered by motors and anyone who played with electrical motors as a kid knows that electric motor have brushes that generate tiny little sparks. Which reminds me… aren’t the zoom lenses powered by electrical motors? Even for the EX?
I would check with camera manufacturers. Kinda hard to fine a camera without some kind of electric motor in it even if it’s tapeless.

put a camera into a waterproof housing would be 1 solution that way the camera is ‘sealed’ away from the air around it
