  • Anyone else has problems making AVC files from M2TS clips?

    Hi!

I have this same problem both in Vista and XP, and i’ve tried it in my Vegas 9 Platinum Movie Studio as well as a trial version of Vegas Pro 9 and i always get the same result. I use M2TS files in Vegas because that’s the the files i get from my SONY HD cam. But whenever i try to render a file to AVC that has more than two M2TS clips in the project media library (which means i can’t have more than two clips in the timeline either), i get a bug after a few seconds of rendering. And as i said, this happens both in Vista and XP and in both the Vegas 9 versions i tried.

It’s not a big deal, i get as good result if i render to FFDshow, i just wonder if anyone else has the same experience, or can explain why this happens.

It does NOT happen if i convert the M2TS files to another format before i import them to Vegas, but the conversion is makes files that don’t have the crisp image of the M2TS files. I suppose i could render to FFDshow and import them and then export to AVC, but that doesn’t really make sense – unless i for some reason absolutely want an AVC file, which could happen i guess.

    /Jonas
