Adding FX to multicam source clips
I read where I can add fx in the media window. I have to undue the multicam to do this, but when I go back to multi-cam mode my fx cannot be seen; the clip is back to its original state. what gives?

First off, make sure you haven’t by-passed FX-ing on the preview Window.

You should not have to undo multicam to do this so I’ll assume you may have done it incorrectly. What you have to do is go to the Project Media tab and find the source clip that you want to add the FX to. Then right-click the clip and choose Media FX…. This will add the FX to the media and no matter where it is in the project, multicam or not, the FX will show on any event made from that media.

That did it! Thanks, guys…(Don’t you guys believe that Vegas is the exceptional NLE? I believe it is because its “ancestor” was first a audio app–and thus it has a unique intuitiveness which is not available in any other NLE. What do you think? thanks…

I think that Vegas is quite exceptional which is why I use it. The other NLE’s that mimic the way we use to work with splicing tape and razor blades are quite archaic. Had word processors been developed with this approach, they would all be ringing a bell at 72 characters so that we know when to press the carriage return like a typewriter did, instead of using word wrap! That’s how backwards those other NLE’s feel to me. 😉
New technologies call for new ways of thinking… those that cast new technology in the form of old technology will always be limited by what the old technology could accomplish. I’m glad the Sony Vegas team doesn’t think this way.
