Is there some way to use the Windows avi codec which Vegas uses in VirtuslDub so that the new file created by the Deshaker script isn’t uncompressed? The way things currently are is that the new clip is many times larger than the original. I would like the new file to be about the same size as the original. I made the mistake of sending a HD MOV clip to Deshaker before making a standard avi file & ended up with 11.2 GB file.

    Thanks in advance

Yes you can change the codec to DV-avi, but you may better use the free Lagarith codec which is lossless and gives smaller files.

I’ve imported this codec & can see it in VirtualDub. I have compression set to that codec. I thought that I had saved my compression settings before logging of VD. I then processed a clip in Vegas 6 using the Deshaker script & VD. The new file is about 15 times the size of the original. How do I set this to work the way I would like it. Can the Windows AVI codec be used with VD?

    Thanks in advance

If you are using the latest version of the script that uses the VD deshaker (https://homepage.ntlworld.com/a.edmiston/deshaker.htm), it defaults to an uncompressed output. You change this after opening the script in Vegas, in the popup window of VD. If I remember well, the code for the lagarith codec is ‘lag’. But if you are working with Vegas 6, this latest version of the script might be non-functional. But it could be working similar in the script version you are using.
