Rendering Issues Low on Memory
Lots of people are having rendering issues “Low on memory” in VP9.0 and 9.0a. Editing WMV files seems to make it worse, but others have this problem even without .WMV. (I was having issues rendering AVCHD in 9.0, but 9.0a resolved my issues.)
On a fresh install of Vista x64 Ultimate, with a 3.0GHz CoreDuo Quad with 8GB of RAM and a 12GB paging file, I still have to set Dynamic RAM preview to 0 before I render (so I just leave it there). Then I reboot the machine (to defrag the paging file), close all other unnecessary applications, and kill Anti-virus/Internet Security. On VP 9.0a, it seems to render for me to Internet 16:9 Widescreen HD 30p. However, it will not render for me in MPEG-2.
There are at least four or five other folks on this forum actively experiencing “low memory errors” on rendering. One of them may be experiencing a problem related to using a Dell (which uses non-standard parts), but the others report that they did not have this error until they upgraded to 9.0a (i.e., they did not experience it before). They believe it is likely a bug in how VP9.0a handles memory.
Also check your paging file, and set it both the initial and maximum settings at 1.5 times the size of your RAM If that does not help, you may be looking at a fresh reload of Windows, to see if that helps.
If your windows is fresh, and your Vegas is fresh, and still you are having issues, I would recommend reporting the problem to Sony, https://www.custcenter.com/cgi-bin/sonypictures.cfg/php/enduser/ask.php, so their software engineers can work on a bug fix for 9.0b. Please give them as much information as you can regarding your system (processor, RAM, system specs, etcetera), your source material (.JPEGs, PNG’s, .avi, .mov, .wmv, whatever), and what you are trying to render to (Main Concept AVC, Sony AVC, Internet 16:9 HD 30p, MPEG-2, etcetera).
I am far from an expert, and this is the extent of my knowledge on this issue. I hope it helps.
