Help! Audio is out of sinc.
Hello,
I’ve just finished editing a music video and I’m onto rendering stage now.
Rendering out at full HD produces perfect audio to video sinc, however, rendering to any mp4, ect (tried numerous ways)does not sinc right -video is about 20-30 ms behind audio.
Most of my video projects don’t have this problem, but I’ve had two now that have this issue that I just can’t get my head around.
Vegas Pro 8 on macbook pro w/bootcamp.
I did notice that all my audio tracks were mixed resolutions, so I rendered out matching audio resolutions, but this did not help the issue.
I would really appreciate any comments/help with this. Clients are calling about every hour for the final version….

Have you tried both MPEG4 encoders? Sony AVC and MainConcept AVC. Do they both cause out of sync audio? This is very strange.
How about if you render to HD and then start a new project and render that to MP4? Perhaps that will yield different results.

Yes I’ve tried both encoders and yes I’ve tried encoding from the HD render as well, all yielding the same results.
I’ve played the files on multiple computers and a ps3 with all the same results.
A bit confused as to what the problem is.
I have ended up rendering a wmv with no syncing issues at all.
I would much rather render to mp4 though -smaller file and less render time.

It sounds like you did everything you could. I would report the incident to Sony and see if they can reproduce it. This should not be happening.
