I am working on an HD video which also uses a long series of still images. Their color intensity and brightness are much higher than the video footage. Is there a “magic” filter in Vegas (I use 9.0a pro) or maybe photoshop to match acceptable video levels? If so, where and what settings. I’ve played around manually and can’t seem to get it right.

    Thanks,

    Jim

    Try this for a start.
Click the Event FX icon on image, choose the Secondary Color Corrector and select the “Computer RGB to Studio RGB” preset.
Stills use the full 0-255 luminance range and doing this brings it down to the video range of 16-235.
You can also try playing with the Levels and Color Curves FX.
