  Rendering results in jerky videos

  I am trying to make a sort of panning shot from some panorama photos.
  I imported a 3628×1080 photo. By using keyframes on position and scale I start with a fully zoomed out picture, zoom in on the left hand side of the panorama and then slowly move to the right hand side and zoom out again.

  In RAM review it looks smooth. But if I render it to a 1920×1080 avi video the result is jerky.
  Also with a dynamic link to Premiere Pro results in jerky video.
  I have also used 960×540 but it is still jerky.

  With jerky I mean that when the panorama should pan it sometimes freezes and then quickly moves forward (like it recovers from the freeze).

  Am I doing something wrong here?

  It sounds like it’s your drives/system that aren’t able to keep up with your footage. If you reimport the file and look back at it frame by frame, does it look fine?

  What render settings have you used to create your AVI? If you’re rendering out an uncompressed, HD video then that’s a great deal of data you’re dealing with. A single drive is not going to be able to handle that throughput.

  What are your system specs?

  I suspect your footage is fine – just huge. :o)

  I am indeed trying to make a full HD video and the amount of data is big. 1.8 GB for 12 second video.

  My composition settings are HDTV 1080 29.97.
  When rendering I use Best Settings and Lossless.

  My laptop I use for this is a Dell XPS M1530
  Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T9300 (2,50 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 6 MB L2-cache), 4 GB RAM, NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 8600M GT
  Hard drive is a 500 GB SATA with 3.0 Gbps support.

  I’ve played HD content before without any problem.

  Dave, I’m trying to find the indicator you are talking about in Premiere but I cannot find it.

  Dave,

  I did have a difference in settings between Premiere and After Effects but setting that straight still doesn’t solve my problem.

  It is the rendered video from After Effects that shows the jerky motions.

  Could it be a hardware issue like Ben suggested? Seems odd for a relatively new high-end laptop.
