  Help! Vanishing titles

  Titles created with ProTitler are disappearing from timeline. The event with transitions remains, but the title just vanishes. It’s looks just like I cut the title. This has happended several times over the pass few days. However, today all title events were visible in preview, the next instant gone. Any explanation?

  Welcome to the joy (not!!) of Vegas Pro 9.0a 🙁
  This issue has been discussed at length on the Sony Vegas forum with a number of users experiencing the same problems (and more) that you are.
  It has been reported to Sony so we’ll (unfortunately) have to be patient and wait for the next update.

  A friend of mine was editing a project that’s being shown at a live event broadcast simultaneously to over 300 theaters later this month, and informed me that he’d been having this disappearing titles problem, and that Sony was “aware of the issue” but hadn’t released any information about a fix yet. I had run into the issue once and just assumed I had done something wrong and reset all my titles to “SAMPLE TEXT” somehow. I agree with my friend’s opinion that something like randomly disappearing titles is a “dealbreaker” when it comes to video editing software. And he can’t even switch back to Vegas 8 because it won’t read the Vegas 9 files. This is completely unacceptable and Sony should have this fixed by now with one small update, not sitting on it until they fix a bunch of other minor problems then wait for some big 9.0b release. Just do a 9.0aa or something.

  First I preordered Vegas 9, then found out I had to stay with 8 because there was a firewire preview device that instantly crashed it. So I waited patiently for 9.0a, only to find out that I still can’t use 9 for any project I might have to put a title in. I’m not saying I’m going to switch my whole life over to Macs, but come on Sony, get with the freakin’ program.
