    I’ve been trying to render a video in Vegas for about 2-weeks now, but it crashes every single time.

    I just don’t understand why it all of the sudden stopped working. Ok, so I have been trying to render the same movie for a few days now.
    Each times it’s a different error, too. Sometimes it will say “A problem has caused Sony Vegas to stop working,” or “An exception has occured,” or it will just freeze at a certain percentage (again, different each time). Sometimes Vegas will just disappear altogether.

    I am using sony Vegas platinum 9.0 on windows vista SP1.
    1GB of Ram and LOTS of space…

    I’ve tried:
    * Saving the project under different names
    * Rendering different parts and combining them
    * Rendering several different file types
    * making sure all videos are the same file type
    * closing all other programs
    * + several other thing I’ve seen online…

    Hi Nick,

    What kind of files (which codec) are your source files? What kinds of effects did you apply? Which settings did you use for rendering?

    well, see the thing is, I am not that experienced in this, so I don’t know. what I do know is that my camera films .mov files and I am converting to .wmv.

    the effects I use are .mov files as well…
    but the thing is I have NEVER had a problem with a video until this one…never. I make videos all the time and nothing is different except this time i took pictures in widescreen (i do stop-motion stuff). but that definitely shouldn;t make a difference because they are still jpeg and when they WEREN’t widescreen i just MADE them widecreen using the pan/crap option…

    I’m having problems rendering and haven’t had them before.

    My project is doing the same things as Nick said above. My source files are .m2ts. There aren’t any fancy effects in my video. For rendering I used:

    Windows Media Video (*wmv.)
    Mode: CBR
    Format: Windows Media Audio 9.2
    Attributes: 128 kbps, 44khz, stereo (A/V) CBR
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1000
    Frame Rate: NTSC
    Seconds per key frame: 3
    Internet/LAN: 3M

    I’ve been on a lot of forums trying to figure this out with no luck. Any help you can give, would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.
