    Hi again,

Ive been following the steps to export Vegas video for burning in Architect (standard DVD)

Im using save as: MPEG 2 main concept and the DVD Architect video stream template. Im concerned since this template doesn’t have an HD 1440 x 1080 output. (im shooting HDV with XhA1).

Is this because in order to burn the mpeg2 as HD I would need to use a blue ray template?

In custom, I also noticed a “HDV” template with MPEG 2 that exports to M2t. Would this produce better results when burning in Architect or will it have to be compressed for the standard DVD… and therefore returning me to the “DVD Architect video stream template”, resolution?

    – Thanks

Standard DVD’s only accept standard definition video so anything you place in a DVD project in DVD Architect must either be standard def or else it will re-encode it to standard def. You are already doing the right thing by rendering with the DVD Architect MPEG-2 templates.

If you want HD you need to use the Blu-ray templates in Vegas and set the DVD Architect project to Blu-ray, but then you don’t have a standard DVD anymore… you’ll have a Blu-ray formatted disc on DVD media which will require a Blu-ray player to watch and may not work on all Blu-ray players.
