    Hi,
I have recorded a video with Sony VX2100 camcorder with the sharpness set at maximum and the video looks horrible.( artifacts like deinterlaced video with fringes/dents around subjects ).

I tried to deinterlace the video using Sony Vegas, the artifacts disappeared (80%) but the video is no longer sharp and got a pixelated look (not clear).
Could somebody help on how can this kind of videos be improved?

    Thanks a lot!

I do not know. I wish I did. If someone could please let us know how sharpness works, and why it would cause artifacts, that would be very helpful.

    Thanks.

Do you have a screen grab of your footage? Was the GAIN on High and were you shooting in really low light?

Recording took place at different light conditions but the quality is more or less the same. I’m going to upload later on a screeshot.
Thanks again for your feedback Gents…
