I would like to make a video.
I would like adequate software to do the following projects.
Okay, so first of all I capture 4 clips of a cover a song. 2 guitars, bass, and drums. All seperate videos. I need to be able to put them into one video to upload to the net or put on DVD. I guess you could say divide the screen in 4. All 4 audio tracks must be present in addition to the backing track. I also need effects, like video tracks in the top right corner being switched out to acoustic video tracks i recorded when i want them to. I know how to do all this on Final Cut Pro as that’s what I use in school. But as far as I know its not available for Windows? But now that i’m home for the summer on a Windows computer, I am completely lost. Which software would i need to download/buy in order to complete this? I am running windows Vista 64-bit. -

What is your budget? If you can afford Vegas Pro 9.0 as Steve said, it will do all that you want. If you cannot, Vegas Movie Studio 9.0 is an inexpensive choice for standard definition work and Vegas Movie Studio Platinum is an inexpensive choice for hi-definition work. Vegas Pro has unlimited video tracks. Both Vegas Movie Studio version are limited to 4 video tracks so if you want 4 simultaneous tracks to show plus a 5th for the background you may need Vegas Pro. When you download the trail, look up Track Motion in the help file and it will show you how to get multiple tracks showing in the same frame.
