    Hi,

I have to create a vintage looking photo album with the pages fliping forward. I’ve already made pages and cover in Photoshop and saved them in PNG+alpha. I wanted to use Sony Vegas to create a page peel effect so I imported all the files on the new layer and started adding transitions..but unfortunately that didn’t help me at all. The Page Peel seems to work out on the whole FRAME but I want to use it ONLY on the PNG files. The problem is how to assign the page peel transition on to specyfic photos and leave the background alone so only photos will turn. Is that even possible? If not Vegas, is there any other software I can use? I really could use your help guys,

    thank you,

    -L

Why dont you just use two video tracks (Place the pictures
on top, and the background that you want at bottom).
and then NOW you add the Page Peel transitions
on the edges of the pictures(top timeline),and you are good to go.

NewblueFX also has more variety page turning effect
transition called Page turn in their 3D Tranformations
plugin that also wont affect the entire frame with a
    transparency look.

Pixelan also has a lot of nice pagepeels in their 3D six pack.

Ok, but How I can add the Page peel only to the edges of pictures. I placed PNGs on the very top layer and then black bacground on the bottom, added page peel transition aaaand….well, it keeps turning the whole freaking frame not just the pictures.

Thanks for the answers I appreciate your help,

I think you can do this on many ways. A simple and quick way is to use two video tracks. Place the pictures on the top track with the page peel in between them. In the track below, you can place the background.
Use the track motion to make the pages at the top track at the right size. You can also place the pages in 3D in track motion. That should do it.

The problem with the sony page-peels is that the backsite op the pages contains the same image. The same holds true for the pixelan page peels. I don’t know how the NewBlue pagepeels are doing in this respect, but Boris FX has page-peels where you can place different images (or videos) on both sites of a page. This is ofcourse much more realistic.
To try, you can download the trial version of Boris FX.

Well I did like you said but the problem still exist.
    so
Here’s the link to my Vegas grab screen—> https://img43.imageshack.us/i/exampler.jpg/

As you can see page peel works fine on the entire frame. Unfortunately the direct result is that ugly black/white strip.I’m trying to get rid of it so only PNG would turn. I need have the project in HD resolution such 1280×720. That’s another problem. Seems like I can’t have the image fit the entire frame. When I uncheck MAINTAIN ASPECT RATIO in Properties Tab the black strips dissapear but instead the image is distorted. How to avoid that?

    Thank you,

It looks like that the size of your background file doesn’t match the project size.
Can you just upload your background file?

yes, you were right…the background was way bigger than 1280×720. I fixed it and now fits okay. but page peel still dosen’t flip the pictures but entire frame…

If I look right to your picture, the lower track contains an empty background and the upper track contains the same background, but now with pictures and page-peels. And the upper track has been reduced in size. If you reduce the size in the track motion of the upper track, the pagepeel should only be visible on the reduced picture (see my picture).
