Filter problems
Good Afternoon
I just noticed a problem and I need help with. When, using Vegas Movie Studio Platimum and a Canon HV30 the footage always comes out good. However when I try and add a filter, like a color corrector, effect,or brightness I notice the video during playback has a consent lighting change as if something is changing the setting that was applied or it wasn’t applied evenly. I thought maybe it was the footage,but it only happens when appling filters. I am only using the filters and effects that came with the software, but it is very distracting when watching the playback, even after rendering.
The filters by the way, give me the proper effect, so I know they are doing the job, but the lighting change amost like a bad picture tube is making the use of filters impossible.
Any help, solution, or assisatnce would be greatly appricated.Regards to all

Fred, make sure you didn’t accidentally add any keyframes in the FX window as it sounds like this is what happened to you.

Thank you for responding. I went back and checked that but no, nothing is keyed except the very first keyframe. I did notice though while playing around that this problem seems to be mostly when brighting up colors, or adding contrast to a clip and it’s only on the background lighting. I used the color correcor with the wheels and I didn’t notice it, at least on first look. When I got the best picture using filters,(A little brighter and more contrast) that’s when I noticed it more. It’s like a fade out and in of the background only, not the face. I did also notice that if I panned in I could get different backgound lighting (After adding a filter) just by moving the pan. Move it to the right, the scene (Background)became just slightly darker, move up and it went slightly lighter. Really weird!

Fred, some good quality before & after pictures would help.
Take a look at your waveform monitor and make sure the levels aren’t too high (i.e. way over 100%). -

I think that was the problem. The intensity must have been to high causeing the flux. I’ts looking better now with no noticable blooming effect. Thank you for your assistance
