    For John Rofrono,
On June 17th you gave me instructions as to how to change my 16mm 4:3 film file to 16:9 in Vegas Movie Studio. Your suggestion worked perfectly! I now see a cropped widescreen version of my original 4:3 material on my preview monitor.
However when I render the film, I am still seeing it in 4:3.
I would like my final product (DVD) to retain the widescreen format.
    Please help.
    Thanks you.

I know that Movie Studio has a Make Movie button that is supposed to take all of the guess work out of this. I assume it would be smart enough to sense that your project is widescreen and use a widescreen render template? If not…

When you render you want to also use a widescreen template. I believe that the only MPEG2 templates that are set up for widescreen are the DVD Architect templates. So if you are in an NTSC country use the DVD Architect NTSC Widescreen video stream template. Then go back and render the audio separately using the Dolby Digital AC3 render type. Alternately you could modify the DVD Architect template by using the Custom… button and turning on audio in the audio tab.
