Hello, I was just wondering if any of you guys could help me with creating a book effect. Basically what i want to happen is i want the camera zooms toward the book and once it finishes zooming towards the book the book opens. Once the first page opens i want the camera to then zoom to it. I know, pretty complicated, THAT’S WHY IM ASKING YOU GUYS!! and if one of you guys could make it for me that will be even better. Thanks in advance, Oh yeah please respond as soon as possible because I’m using this effect for a project (for school) that is due in 2 DAYS!!!

    …I love this forum. 🙂

Joe: It sounds like you have little to no experience in this sort of thing. Here’s one of the first and most important things to learn: when you decide to “do something in post” – you need to have that planned out in advance and understand how to do it – before you commit to it. Otherwise you end up where you are right now.

A quick google search (literally maybe 5-7 minutes of research) turned up the following:

    and

    https://www.nyc-visual.com/3D_Book_M.html
For the above, the person who made it included a project file you can use to base yours around. This should work for you.

A piece of advice: Don’t ever expect anyone to hand you anything in this field. Video production & creative types generally love to teach people things – but they have to know that the person they are teaching is a hard worker and it is worth the time to teach them. Prove yourself by your work ethic, your initiative, and your willingness to do whatever needs to be done, and you’ll find lots of open doors for learning.

If you pose a learning/need help question in a way that says that you expect people to drop everything and help you without you doing the hard work necessary to get it done (i.e. research, planning, learning software, etc.) – be prepared for some truly epic sarcasm. Understand that the majority of those that frequent the COW forums are working professionals, who share their wisdom with others out of the goodness of their hearts. Ask in a way that shows your willingness to do hard work, and 95% of the time people here will help you understand whatever it is you are having a hard time with.

Good luck and best wishes with your project.
