    in the next few days i will need to shoot just 1 shot that will last over 2 and a half hours, what is the way to render this to try and keep the file size down.
    any advice appricated.

    MPEG4 is probably the smallest filesize with the highest quality. You can use the Sony AVC or MainConcept AVC render types to do this. The MainConcept AVC type has an Apple iPod 640×480 template that is probably a good starting point for SD. Sony AVC has a lot of HD templates too.
