  • syncing externally recorded audio in Vegas Pro 8.0c…

I’m sure this is an easy one for anyone that has had to do it before.

I’m editing a project in Vegas Pro 8.0c. The audio was professionally recorded by a sound guy using lavaliers and his own hard drive/computer. When the shoot day was done he downloaded the audio right onto my computer. I can import all of the audio into Vegas. I have found the clips clips that match the audio and I can manually match them up.
    A. Is there an easier way than manually matching up the audio to the video.
B Either way, once the audio is matched up to the video, is there a way to “marry” the audio and video? So that if I need to move them, they go together. Not one at a time so that I have to constantly be rematching them manually.

    Thank you for any help.

    A. When I do recordings like this, I use the scratch track from the camera tape(s) and use this as a guide to sync the good sound.
You did record a scratch track, didn’t you?

    B. Click on the video track, shift-click the corresponding audio track and press the ‘G’ key to Group them together.
