    Hey there! Have been running Vegas 7.0e for the past 2 years on a Dell Optiplex 745 with XP on it. Intel Core 2CPU 6400 @ 2.13 Ghz and 4 Go RAM. Ever since the IT guys at the shop made the switch to Vista it hasn’t been the same. They are offering to upgrade my PC to these specs;

    Processor: Core2 Quad, 9650/ 3.0GHz

    Memory: 4GB,Non-ECC,800MHz DDR2,2X2GB

    Graphics: 256MB ATI RADEON HD 3450 Graphics dual DVI and VGA and TV Out

    Hard drive: 250GB SATA 3.0Gb/s and 8MB Data Burst Cache

    Dell 19 in 1 Media Card Reader

    Mouse: Dell USB Laser 6-Button Mouse

    CD-ROM or DVD-ROM: 16X DVD+/-RW SATA

    Additional storage: 160GB SATA 10K RPM 3.0Gb/s 3.5inch SATA2 16MB Data Burst Cache

    I don’t build machines I just edit. What do you guys think?

    Cheers

    You should be very happy trading up from a 2.13Ghz DualCore to a 3.0Ghz QuadCore. That’s a LOT more power. 4GB of memory is minimal but OK. You might want more than 160GB of extra storage depending on how big your projects are. Overall, not a bad trade.
