  Problems rendering AVCHD to BR in VMSP 9b

  I have a 4-minute project of *.m2ts source clips, taken on a Panasonic SD9 (1920 x 1280 60i), and 7MP stills. (Early attempted renders were crashing on the stills until I resized them to 3.5MP.)

  I’m trying to output to blu-ray and burn on BR-D. I’ve tried the following things, and my renders always crash or hang:
  — limiting to 1 thread and resizing preview window to 24MB
  — using “make movie” and Sony AVC, with different BR formats
  — using “make movie” and Mainconcept, with different BR formats
  — “render as” BR with both Sony and Mainconcept (and was prepared to use TsMuxer to splice the video and audio, but never got the video rendered)
  — rendering in smaller (1 minute) chunks

  I’ve seen a few postings that VMSP 9b simply can’t render *.m2ts files to BR, but seen others claiming that it can.

  Any suggestions?

  My system specs: core i7/2.66Ghz, 6GB DDR3/1066, ATI 4850, plenty of disk space.

  Well… it may depend on where the *.m2ts files come from. I don’t think that VMSP works well with Panasonic files because they use a profile that Vegas doesn’t support. I have no problems in Vegas Pro 8 with my Sony CX12 files.
