Hello, I am relatively new to Vegas and to this forum.

I have two problems with rendering my media presentation. Any help would be appreciated.

    1. I am using both still photos (4:3) and HD video (16:9) in this presentation and when rendered it has the black bars above and below the HD portions to accommodate for the 4:3 photos. Is there a way to “zoom in” the whole video when rendering to get rid of the black bars from the HD portion or does this have to be done on each HD segment used in the presentation?

    2. Regardless of item 1; I am using 2 segments of HD where I use the fast-motion technique of CTRL-Click the edge of the clip. This looks exactly like I want in the preview – however – when rendered, those two segments are black (they are not rendering. The rest of the presentation is rendering perfectly.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Steve

to your first question you need to click on the
event/pan crop window and then when the
window pops up you right click in the window and
select match output aspect for each video or each
    picture…..then all will fit accordingly.

For your second question try using the velocity envelope to
speed up your segments and see if the problem persists.

Ok – even more dumb question – I can’t find the velocity envelope. When i search HELP – “velocity” is not found. Did I miss something?

Thanks again for your answers to the other questions.

Right-click the video event and select Insert/Remove Envelope – Velocity.
    Adjust as desired.

edit: you must use the Pro version of Vegas as none of the Movie Studio versions have this feature.

Mike has pointed it out clear for you.
Hoping though you are using the professional version of
vegas, because the Movie Studio versions does not have
    velocity envelope.
