NTSC Widescreen Video Steam?!?
Hello all,
My name is Matt and this is my first post. I’ve searched all over the internet about this but couldn’t find any answers.
I have edited a video in Sony Vegas Pro 8.
I rendered them in NTSC Widescreen Mode because they were shot in HD (AVD/HD) with my canon hd camera.
I split the audio up and rendered it alone with AC3 audio like recommended.When I tried to render my entire video, it seemed to always get stuck at 91% which happened to be around were the slideshow and credits start to scroll.
I figured out that I could render up to the slideshow/credits and it would work fine.
So…I have 2 rendered (NTSC widescreen video stream) files (one for main movie/one for credits)
Also, I have one audio file for the entire movie and credits. (The audio had no problems rendering the entire video in AC3)
In total, I have 3 files: 2 Video/1 Audio
Then I went to put in in Vegas Architect Pro…
When I put either video track into the layer with the audio track, it will not ask to compress files.
When I put the 2 video tracks in (each on separate layers because I can’t put it all on one layer for some reason) and the audio in below, it says it must recompress both video files!
I know it’s probably something simple but I have been pulling my hair out!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How long is the whole show and the two segment seperatly? How big are the rendered DVDA mpg2 files? You can only put about 4.7 GB on each DVD, otherwise you have to compress.
As to why you get stuck at 91%, I do not know, but you may experiment by eliminating some segments in the credit section.I routinly make DVDs from the Canon HG10, AVCHD with no problems.

I have tried messing around with the credits and slideshow pics…Nothing seems to work.
The files are not too big. Together, they video clips take up 46% of the dvd.
The main problem is that when I put the 2 video clips in architect, it wants to recompress both.
Check out the photo below…All I want to do is when the first clip ends, it goes straight into the second clip. The audio is one file…
The video is only 30 minutes total…
What I don’t understand is that when I put one video file with the audio, it won’t ask me to recompress…That why I think maybe it’s the way I’m adding the 2nd video file?

I don’t believe you can do that. When you bring a MPEG2 file into DVDA, it’s looking for the matching audio file. Both must have the same name, just different extensions; MP2/AC3.
Unless you’re using a first-run video with no audio. I’m quite sure you can’t match 2 separate videos to 1 audio track.
If you split off the end credit video, then split the audio as well.

What you could try is placing both MPEG files on the Vegas timeline and render out to a single MPEG file. If you use the same render settings as before, Vegas should “smart render” the files and stitch them together with no recompression. If this is working, the video preview will say something like “no recompression required” while rendering. This is how you know smart render is working. The results will be one MPEG file with no loss in quality.
