Hey I’m new to this so please tell me if I’m breaking any rules.:)

Well when i click to open sony vegas 7 it starts loading as usual but about half way.. and installer appears and its asking to install Corel Snapfire plus?? and it says to install it i need a CD (which i don’t seem to have!)
And in between this, the Vegas loading bar has stopped so surely it has done something to it. I try to get rid of this installer by clicking close but it keeps coming back… so i use Ctrl+Alt+Del and get rid of it that way but it also closes vegas :S and it does this everytime i try to open vegas. I tried re-installing vegas and that didn’t work and i tried to uninstall this snapfire thing and that doesnt work because it thinks im trying to INstall it! ARG!!

    Help please!

To first resolve this issue…you must first completely
uninstall all traces of corel snapfire. Like how you are
having problems uninstalling it, you can go into your
C:Program Files directory and delete every folder and
files relating to snapfire…and if you are familiar with
the registry editor (click Run from the start menu…then
type in “regedit” then click OK
    ) and remove all keys
    pertaining to it.
Or you can hunt online for an uninstaller that uninstalls
    stubborn software…
Either way, ridding your system of snapfire seems certain
vegas will be up and running.

Thanks so much for an amazing answer.

I just removed any traces of corel from my registry… but it still happens when opening vegas :s
It’s even still on my currently installed items (still cannot uninstall without this mythical disk)

i’ll comb the web for a uninstaller..if u have any ideas keep messaging me thanks 🙂

You can try ccleaner at https://www.ccleaner.com

And as a bonus, have this one handy “Unlocker” at
    https://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ …it unlocks and removes
    stubborn files.

I downloaded both of those..thanks a lot btw they helped me clean up my pc :)!

But it’s still asking for a cd to uninstall it..even after i got rid of ANY reference to corel snapfire!

The uninstaller on ccleaner doesnt work either :s any other ideas?

Contact Corel and ask them how to completely remove SnapFire from your system. This is their problem to solve.
