Almost There – Help with .m2v conversion
Hello once again. Still looking for the first Blu-Ray burn success.
Almost there!I thought I found a descent DVD authoring program but it doesn’t seem to accept .m2v rendered Vegas files. Nor does it accept ac3pro files.
Is there a workaround for these two Vegas rendered files?

Is there a reason you are not using DVD Architect 5? It works fine making Blu-ray’s from these files.

You may read my recent posts regarding the troubles I have had with DVD Architect Pro. For some reason, it doesn’t want to work with this HP computer I bought. I actually took the time to exchange it for a brand new one just to see if I had a lemon. Architect continued to lock up the system when searching for the drives.
I am now attempting to use Cyberlink but it doesn’t recognize .m2v files.
Sony Creative just had me render a Sony AVC file, changing the render format to .mp4 but Cyberlink came back with an error message about conflicting tv formats “downgrading on import” – plus the audio file did not come through.
I did discover a known issue with 8.1 and that the MainConcept will not produce a Blu-Ray at 1920×1080; otherwise, I would have used that.
Do I have the guts to download 8.0 on a 64bit Vista system? I’m not sure.
One human should not have to go through this to get an HD Blu-Ray disc. : )

Sometimes buying the latest hardware is bad because the software hasn’t caught up. Did you buy an HP Workstation or a PC from their consumer line? The HP Workstations are designed to be used for application like video editing so their components should be compatible. In general it’s a good idea to stay away from consumer PC’s.
You could always swap out the incompatible burner for one that’s known to work. I’m using the Pioneer Blu-ray BD-RW BDR-220 and it works fine with DVD Architect Pro 5 on my home built Intel QuadCore system.

Thanks for the reply – sorry for the slight delay.
I got a great deal on a high end consumer model with a 25.5 monitor. Everything seems to be working now except for the problem with DVD Arch Pro. I switched to Cyberlink’s product but I wish I didn’t have to. I tried two drives with it but still locks up the computer whenver I click on Create DVD.
I took your advice and bought UpShift to handle the AVCHD files. Big improvement on playback stuttering.
