  • Help with finishing my video project

Posted by Gage Hanna on March 31, 2009 at 4:01 am

So I need some serious help. I made a video (using Sony Vegas Platinum) and the video is done. When I go to render it it tells me that I can’t because there is complications in writing it and I should make that the file/folder I have of it has enough memory. Clueless, I go to a different option and go to “Make movie…”. I do that then it tells me that the file is 79GB and there is not enough room on my computer. The clips I made the video with is not even 1GB worth of memory. The video is only 7 minutes long. Can ANYONE help me on this. If so, that would be hecka cool of you. Because I REALLY want this video completed and put on youtube.

It sounds like you might be rendering it to uncompressed format which is extremely large (as you have seen). How are you rendering it? I’m not sure what options VMS has (I use Vegas Pro) but if it has the Sony AVC or MainConcept AVC save type, select one of those and an appropriate template and it should produce a fairly small mp4 file. Also the Windows Media Video format will produce small files as well.

I ended up getting it to work. I just rendered it as a Mpeg and compressed it
