  Huge Project

  Hello, Im working in a 4 minute music video in HDV format recorded with canon xh a1, the project seems pretty heavy, I have 8g ram, cuatcore, plenty of hard disk, (the files are m2t) is there any tips for making the proyect more fluid? or less heavy? cause sometimes it freezes or loads slowly… not even by putting it in draft mode…

  I assume a music video would have lots of tracks. HDV is heavy. One track can probably play back smoothly on a QuadCore but start layering tracks and using compositing modes and adding FX and it will start slowing down pretty quickly. That’s why we developed products like VASST GearShift that let you work with DV proxies and then swap the HD media back in before the final render. You’re pushing a lot of pixels around with HD and sometimes proxy editing is only way to get acceptable framerates.
