  • Burning video to CD-ROM not working – please help

Posted by Mike Bolson on February 17, 2009 at 10:16 pm

    Hi,

I am trying to burn a video created in Vegas to a 700MB CD-ROM and am following the directions in Vegas to do that.

Video is 24 mins, approx. 168MB when I use the mpg4 format with YouTube highest quality display.

It tests fine, but when it starts to actually burn the movie I get the same error over and over that the disk isn’t big enough for the data – anyone know what the problem is? The video size is clearly smaller than the CD-ROM size or am I just missing something totally?

Any help is appreciated; I have 5 videos to burn to CD-ROM and one of which is 51 minutes, so I’m a little nervous now

    Thanks
    Mike

It may be the burning app your using. Since it’s a data disc, try right clicking on the video in windows explorer an selecting send to CD-rom. Windows will burn it to disc. Let me know if this helps, Danny Hays

Thanks for the advice – actually I”m trying to burn directly through Vegas, without having to render it first. I’ll keep trying though

    Thanks

How are you burning to CD through Vegas? Are you using Tools | Burn Disc | Video CD? This will make an MPEG1 file which will bear no resemblance to the mp4 file you are using to judge size.
