  • Video Editing to an Audio Tempo Map — possible?

    Hi All,

I apologize for asking what may be a newbie question but I just bought Vegas because Premiere CS3 would not play well with my new AVCHD cam.

The song is 78 beats-per-minute. Can I set up a tempo map much like I would in my DAW? Then when I enable snapping, I could cut on 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 note, etc.

I see that I can switch my timeline view to show those notes, but I don’t see where I can enable a tempo map and set the BPM so the actual song locks to the grid.

Any advice on how you music video editors do this would be greatly appreciated as I am severely behind schedule at this point.

    Thanks!

The tempo of the project can be set in: Project Properties | Ruler | Beats per minute. Then go into Options | Preferences | Audio and check Import audio at project tempo. You must set all of this up BEFORE you add the music. Vegas will then add all audio at the project tempo.
