  • Resume button on DVDA5 remote

When I display the remote buttons in DVDA5, the resume button is set to off and I can’t change it. The line is also not in bold print like the others. I’m trying to set the remote to resume play back from the point the stop button is pressed. The only time the resume button setting can be changed is when a menu page is displayed, and I always I have it set to “on”. Is there another way to accomplish what I’m trying to do? Thanks!

Pete, have you tried burning a test DVD to see if things function the way you had hoped?
The recent thread “DVD Architect 4 menu problems” pointed out inconsistencies of the remote control in DVDA as well as real remotes.

“I’m trying to set the remote to resume play back from the point the stop button is pressed.”

Where a DVD begins playback when you hit Resume depends entirely on how the manufacturer has programmed that player. For you to decide what happens when the Resume button is pushed would require “re-programming” the player, something that is way beyond the capabilities of a DVD authoring app. (The DVD doesn’t get to decide — the player does.)

All you can do in DVD Architect is decide whether or not that button functions at all (meaning, is it On or is it Off). And even that, you wouldn’t be able to do for when the DVD is stopped. How can the player read instructions from a disc that isn’t currently playing? It can’t.
