  Sony Vegas 8.0c build 260 – no audio – MPEG-1 layer II

  I am trying to import video from my V.I.O cam into Sony Vegas 8.0c, the video is working, but the audio is missing. I am running Windows XP on a Macbook Pro in Bootcamp. The file plays perfectly in windows media player with sound and picture.

  What codec does the POV.1 use?
  The POV.1 uses the Xvid codec to record video onto the SD card. The video is converted in to the similar Divx codec when edited with the POV.1 content Manager. Audio is encoded using the MPEG 1 Layer II codec scheme.

  Any ideas why the audio is not working?

  Yup, Vegas does not support DivX or Xvid. You need to use some other program like Super(c) to convert it to a format that Vegas can edit.
