Vegas Boot Up
Hoping someone can shed some light on my problem…I am a long time vegas user. My problem is with the initial start and load of vegas 7. I currently am using Version 7.0e Build 216
On the splash screen, everything goes as normal until I get to the Initializion UI… My program just hangs there and does not continue to load. Do I need to reinstall? I am using Windows XpPro 64 bit. 4 Gig if RAM. Anyone experience this problem?
I haven’t gone into the application for about a week and a half.Oh while I was typing…Vegas finally booted up after about 18 minutes…Since I already typed this in, maybe someone can tell me why it took so this perticular time. My last session had quite a bit of raw video (over an hour of footage streight from my Canon Xl1s and around 20 tracks). I have options set to open up the last session which it did not but prior to this incident, This big session opened up fine for at least a week of sessions every day…
Never had this happen before…. Hmm…Any feedback would be appreciated. -

Vegas 6 & 7 used to do this on my machine whenever I had anything firewire plugged in and on. If I switched the cam off or the hard drive off it would chug right along. Once it was up, then I would turn them back on. That would be the first thing I checked. If not that, perhaps try unplugging other devices that you have hooked up and see if you can locate one as the culprit.

Thanks for the feedback. I did have a SandDisk Compact Flash card readed hooked up but I thought I had that hooked up for a while. One thing is did get recently was the addition of another Hard Drive but that was installed about a month ago. I guess this is one of those quirky things that happen, “self-repair” and I never may know the reason…live goes on…thanks J razz

I personally would not want Vegas to load the last project automatically just in case there was a problem with the files causing the program to crash or hang. In your case why not by pass that and go back to the default setup then reopen your project and see if that helps. Just opening Vegas should not take long but if you are asking it to load huge files then it could eat up your resources in a hurry.
You can hold down ctrl shift while launching Vegas to reset it to the default settings. Let me know if this helps.
