I am working on a project that consists of several parts.

a couple live scenes and then a more complex narrative with graphics and b roll. I’m shoot all of the video so even the B roll will go to them.

They want me to edit the live scenes ( on my vegas system )

and they are going to build out the narrative with graphics and b roll in FCP

They are responsible for putting the whole thing together and final rendering for the delivery – I’m just a contractor.

For the sake of future work, i don’t want my end of this to be a PITA to integrate with what they are doing.

the more i read on the subject the more confused i get about what FCP will digest without throwing up.

Keep in mind – I have to digitize the b roll for them also ( i typically use scenalizer ) and that will go directly to FCP

if i render my segment for them out in quick time, uncompressed – are there any custom settings that I should be aware of so they can drop the .mov file into FCP – like ntsc dv or standard, etc..

    thanks
    Wayne

Just the default settings for uncompressed quicktime or quicktime
using the animation codec should do the trick. You can also render
using quicktime photo-jpeg, if you want to cut down on file sizes
    but retain superior quality.
