  Cannot play large files rendered in AVC/ACC *.mp4

  Hi!

  I have edited a movie in Sony Vegas Pro 8.0c. The source files are AVCHD *.mts. Now I want to encode this movie into DVD and HD h264 mp4.

  The rendering into mpeg2 DVD works well, so that is no problem.

  When I try to render into MainConcept AVC/AAC (*.mp4) I cannot play the video. The strange thing is, that when I encode short 10 minute clips the video plays fine. It is only when I try to encode the whole 40 minutes of video it breaks. Encoding finishes without errors but when I try to play the file MPC says “Cannot render file”.

  Do I have to use special settings when encoding/rendering large files?

  Can’t find anything about this on the mighty google :/

  EDIT: I now tried to encode/render a 20 minute segment. That went fine. Trying a 30 minute video now to see if it works. 40 min is still a bust. There must be someone other than me that is having this problem?

  EDIT2: 30 minute clip went fine also.

  I am having the same problem. I have already posted a message here but I doubt that anyone will help.

  I’m wondering what file format people use to render long HD content.

  The problem is not with length of the video but with 2GB limitation. If your file is larger than 2GB it will not play.

  Anyone can help us figure it out? 🙂 of should we call Sony tech support?

  I am also having other problems: when I’m using m2ts format the video is not displayed during playback, but audio works fine. Also when I’m using MKV merge UI to convert it to MKV it does not recognize video from m2ts. Any ideas?
