Problem with Vegas & Architect together?
Posted by Jon Smith on January 2, 2009 at 5:58 pmI am new to the Sony world but purchased Vegas 9.0 and DVD Architect Pro 5.0.
I have edited a family video and when I go to Make Movie, then DVD, it keeps telling me that “DVD architect does not appear to be installed. please install it and try movie maker again.”
However, I have reinstalled twice and it does not read it. Any siggestions? Will Sony Vegas not let me burn a DVD with another program? Please help!
Thanks!

January 2, 2009 at 8:25 pmThat may be because you are using the professional version
of DVD Architect with the non-professional version of vegas. If you are using “Vegas Movie Studio 9” i would presume using
“DVD Architect Studio 4.5” would solve your problem.Steve Rhoden

Thank you for the rsponse. I am using Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0 and DVD Architect Pro 5.0. To be clear, you are saying that if I regress a bit to DVD Architect Studio 4.5 I will be OK?
Also, do you know of any good royalty free video places where I can find falling snow, or fire effects for using in my editing?
Thanks so much!

January 3, 2009 at 3:56 amThanks, it did the trick. I switched to 4.5 studio and it burned!
I looked at the sites you suggested and realized I did not communicate effectively. I meant to ask if there were any good free animation sites. Like to get baloons floating up, stuff like that? A Santa walking across the screen, etc.

If you need the snow and the fire only once, you can consider to install the trial versions of Boris FX or Particle Illusion and make the fire or the snow exactly as you wish.
