I apoligize if this is a repeat post

I just got Sony vegas movie studio 9 and so far i love it. At the moment there is only one problem i can not solve.

When i add a media affect to a certain video it carries on throught the whole project. Is there a way to restrict that media affect to only the video/ portion of a video that i want?

Example: i gave my first part of my movie a cookie cut-out effect. I only want it for the first part but every other clip i had also has that effect.

    Any solutions?

You can add effects (like the cookie cutter ) in three different ways: to an event, to an track and to the project. It looks that you add your effects to the whole track (or even to the whole project).
You should add your effects to the event FX button on the events, not to the track FX button on the track header.

In case your whole footage consists of 1 (or more) very long events, you can split the event in shorter pieces with the S button before you add the effect. In that way, you can determine which part of your footage gets the effect.
