I am required to produce DVDs with time code visable in the frame. I am not sure how I can create this and still be able to edit down to what will be necessary to create the final segments form the rough material. Since it is difficult to create video from these sections once the edits are made and time code shifts to the new relationships. How do you hold to the original and meet the new requirements?

The original timecode can be obtained by adding a Sony Timecode FX to all of the media in the project media pool. A running project timecode can be obtained by adding the Sony Timecode FX to the Master Video Bus (above the Preview window).

I’m not sure why someone would want the timecode of the media since this will jump around widely as you encounter each new clip. More often people want a continuous running timecode from the beginning of the movie.

Thanks for the reply! The video was shot in 40 min. segments and the need to figure out which parts of this tape are useful for the final program. I need to manufacture a DVD that the people doing the logging will have reference numbers to make choices. If there is an easier way I’d love to hear it.
