  • Can Vegas 8.0 use .cda files?

Posted by Aaron Siebenga on December 24, 2008 at 8:50 pm

I’m trying to get some audio off of a Audio CD (.cda) to put into a video in Vegas 8.0, but this is what happens:

    – I go into Explorer
    – I find the files I need (as .cda)
    – I drag them into the appropriate spot on the timeline
    – It asks me if I want to save “Track07” into the Vegas 8.0 Program files
    – I save it
    – When the audio event shows up, it’s completely blank! No music at all.

Is there any way to fix this?

As a side note CDA files are merely a pointer that tell where the actual corresponding audio file resides on the disc. Hence the need to EXTRACT the audio from the CD.
