    Hey everyone…

I am wanting to revolve a particle system around a layer in After effects, I have a sphere shape and want the emitter to orbit round the sphere layer so that you are able to see the particles moving in front of and behind the layer when moving your camera view around in 3d space…..

    is this possible??

I know that the problem is due to the way AE renders your layer order, is there a way round this?

    Been bugging me for ages,
    thanx for your help

    Goodnight and good luck

First, what effect are you using to generate the particles? Second, are your particles oriented in a spherical shape, or are you attempting to orbit around a sphere made with something like cc sphere?

Yar, CC Sphere only creates a flat picture of a sphere. It’s not a 3D sphere. However, it’s easy to place a CC Sphere inside another CC Sphere so you could precomp your particle and use it as the upper layer in a stack of CC Spheres.
