hi im in the process of making a GTA4 video using vegas 8 pro and am having a problem getting the video files (rendered using GTA4’s inbuilt editor) as a visible video.

all works fine in vegas i can see all the video and if i preview it in vegas it plays as it should with all the video, however. when i render it with vegas all the GTA4 footage just shows as a blank screen (this only happens with just the video, the audio from the GTA4 clips works fine).all the extra text ect i have put on it in vegas works. its just the GTA4 footage.

have rockstar (or microsoft for that matter) put something in it to stop the videos from showing… or is it a setting i have to configure?

edit**** just tried changing the preview window to good or best and the video dissappeared so it only works in preview (auto).
would my video files (720p wmv) resolution (1280-768) be the problem.

can anyone help me with this please
    thank you

    Grand Theft Auto IV ??

Could be a missing CODEC. Google for the free program “GSpot” – it will tell you what CODEC you should have installed on your PC.

    ok il do that now.
it just puzzled me as to why it worked in preview (in vegas 8) but nothing else.

    i will try that program.

pps. i have the cccp codec pack installed which has let me play all the media i have wanted to so far.

ppss. i tried that program and it just says codec undetermined. thanks anyway thou il try to take codecs out of the picture by getting latest ones.
