  • Making object’s background glow effect?

Posted by Jim on May 27, 2005 at 7:40 pm

How would I do this.. I would have a mask around the object, and then what do I use to make it so there is like a glow around the edges of the object?

    I did this:

    with shine.

Shine is a great plug-in usefull for a BUNCH of stuff.

But what I did was duplicate the layer and have one with the shine effect and the top one without. You might be able to do that with some of the built in plug-ins too.

    Good luck,

    thanks,

does this shine plugin come with one of the AE pro versions? or do you have to get it separately?

    No — seperate plug-in…

Good luck, — I’m still trying to recreate w/o shine… to see if it can be done.

I just did a couple of similar things with CC Light Rays — it’s in my Render folder in 6.5 Pro… but I also had ncie effects with LensFlare (god forbid!!!).

    Good luck,
