Sadiq, a heartfelt welcome to the Vegas community.
I’m sure you’ll enjoy your stay with us 🙂

    Now to answer your questions.

    1. Yes.
Just make sure to render using the AC-3 template, give it the same name as your MEPG-2 file (i.e. video.mpg and video.ac3) and save both to the same folder. If you do it this way, DVD Architect will automatically load the audio file as soon as it loads the video file.
If your video has a lot of stills in it, render using Best mode as this will help maintain image quality.

    2. No.
As long as the final video isn’t over (approx.) 70 min., you’ll be fine. If it’s over that length, you’ll have to use a bitrate calculator to determine optimum render settings.

The Vegas Pro 8 help file has some pretty good tutorials built into it so make sure to check those out.
Also, Sony has some introductory tutorials on their site.

That is exactly how it should be done.
Following that work-flow requires no further compression
in DVD Architect…which of course will result in a pristine
    finished DVD.

OK – I used Architect Pro (trial) and successfully created a blu-ray disc (but it took 6 hours for 90 minutes of SD mpeg2 files)! But it is not recognized on my new Sony blu ray dvd player, which reads the disc but shows no menu. I used a new buffalo burner (it claims 6x speed but only burned a 6x disc as 2x)!

Any options? In architect I just did a file-new and chose blu-ray for the dvd type.

    Joe
