  Why can’t I reposition source media post-crop, post-chroma key?

  Here’s what’s happening:

  I apply chroma key to an event.

  I crop the chroma-keyed event. (I am not using key frame)

  When I try to reposition the cropped event on a background (move it frame left or right), I lose the cropping. I can move it vertically and not lose the crop, but I cannot move it horizontally.

  Is there no way to “grab” the cropped event and position it anywhere on the background that I choose?

  I tried to change the grid size of the source media but could not find the preferences for that. Is it possible to change the source media grid size?

  The project is to insert a chroma keyed event into a b/w Sixties rock band performance.

  Any suggestions would be most genuinely appreciated!

  I would use Track Motion to position the chroma keyed subject after it is cropped. This should work as you expect.
