  • Compiling multiple final short films into one compilation

    Hi All

I am helping a friend out who is in charge of running a short film. The top 10 entries are going to be shown on the IMAX screen here in Sydney so quality is very important. The files will be played from a decent Mac laptop. Each film needs to be introduced via a transition clip which we will create.

He has the winning entries, but these files are all already rendered in a final format (and varying formats). How can we get these 10 films and the associated transitions into one 40 min presentation with the least loss in quality?

Should we just do the work in Vegas/Final Cut and re-render using an HD template or H.264 codec and take the hit in quality? Will it be significat?

    Regards

Render to a lossless codec. Since you will be showing them on a Mac you could use the Quicktime Animation codec with the quality set to 100%. This setting makes it lossless (anything from 1% – 99% is lossy).
