Freezing a video frame
I’m placing text on top of a video clip (fairly abstract, purchased from iStockphoto.com). I want to in effect freeze the video at certain points to allow more time for the text to be displayed in a portion of the screen where there’s a vacant space.
It appears there a couple of approaches to freezing a frame I can take:
1. Apply a velocity envelope and set it to 0 for as long as I need the action to stop.
2. Make a frame of the video into a still image, and put it in place of (or on top of ) the video. The velocity envelope is puzzling to me, because I’m not sure I notice it really stopping or slowing the video, even when set to 10% or 0%.
The still image works.
Is there another way to hold on a video frame for a few seconds?
Thanks.
