    Hi,

I am working with m2ts files with 5.1 ac3 soundtracks recorded with a sony hd-sr11. I have edited the video/audio timeline, trimming, thats it. The video I am rendering as a dvd compliant mpg2, the audio I would like to preserve the original edited 5.1 tracks and not rerender/reencode them. I have used other editing software to edit hd mpg2 files with 5.1 soundtracks, which allowed to save the edited ac3 track without reencoding. Is this possible in vegas? I dont have an issue with the video part, and my goal is the highest quality audio i can get, ie by keeping the original encode.
