When I add an effect like reversing and overlapping clips to make a transition, I sometimes get a skippy footage. At first I thought my computer couldn’t keep up with vegas, so I just left it alone and rendered it. When I rendered it was still skippy like how I previewed it. Is they’re a way to fix this or am I doing something wrong?

When you say “sometimes” what are you doing when it does this? It sounds like if it is rendering out that way, then it has something to do with your fx settings. Also, make sure you check the field order to make sure it is still matching your project (in one of the previous versions I had an issue with reversed footage mixing up the field order of the reversed event). I have no idea why it would do this on your encoded file on the crossfades, unless there are fx that you did not mention.

Or it could possibly still be your computer not being able to keep up. Try playing the encoded file on a different computer or burning it to a DVD and playing it with a player.

If it turns out that it actually is encoded that way, you might check to see how much free space you have on your hard drive. Check the space on your operating drive and the drive that your project is in.
