    Hi everyone,

What are some basic methods of getting flat/ugly DV footage looking great and also applying 24p conversion and de interlacing?

I normally just do a brightness/contrast adjustement to the clip and possible add a touch of glow to get rid of nasty ‘edges’.

Other than the contrast/brightness/glow. What are other standard procedures that I can do on DV footage to get it to look a bit more like film?

    I shoot at 25fps PAL. How can I do a 24p conversion and de-interlacing?

    Am using Vegas 8.0.

You could try VASST Celluloid, or Magic Bullet Looks, or DVFilm Maker. All three will give you that “film look”.

In the interest of full disclosure, I work at VASST, the makers of Celluloid.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply..

Someone just told me that a good way to get that 24p film look is to slomo the footage to 99% rather than 100% and that in doing so will cause it to drop a frame.

In my case in the PAL world it will drop from 25fps to 24fps and therefore creating a film look?

Does this make any sence? I can’t understand it.
