    Hi!

I’m editing an PAL DV project in Vegas 7.0. When I bring up the waveform scope to watch the luminance levels, I get confused.

As far as I know my camera, like all other cameraes, records 601 footage (levels from 16-235). Therefore I set the scope to Studio RGB (which is 601). Then I add a SMPTE Colorbar, and the level of black is 0, and white is 100 (I presume this is 0,7 V?). But when I place the cursor wherer there is no footage at the timeline, the black level is below 0 in the scope! Why is this?

Can I somewhere control if my project setup is 601 or full RGB?
