  • using procoder3 with DVDA

I’ve been trying for a couple of weeks now to use procoder 3 with DVD Architect 4.5. DVDA won’t accept m2v files, and m2t files force it to recompress (which defeats the purpose of even using procoder). And when I try and input a m2p file as video (with the ac3 file as audio) it puts up an error message saying it can’t use that kind of file.

What’s the deal? I just want to compress the movie using procoder and use the video from that and the audio in ac3 format to make a dvd! Why is that so difficult? BTW, I don’t want to use another program to recompress anything, I need it to be the best quality possible.

    Sorry Jonathan,
I dont know anything about Procoder….never used it before.
    I only always recommend ‘Sorenson Squeeze’….Doubt you’ll
have a single problem with it.

For professional DVD encoding for films, you need better than sorenson. Procoder is definitely the best for the money. Getting better than procoder means paying serious money. :-/

Anyone have an answer to my question?

I use Procoder all the time to go from m2t to m2v or m2p. Love it for high quality. I like editing in Vegas 8, but the results I get with their Mainconcepts codec are quite bad showing all sorts of motion artifacts no matter what settings I pick. I generally use Ulead’s Express to Author the DVD’s. Works fine. Suppose when I get to Blueray I’ll have to change to DVD-A.
